Hi guys just wanted to ask those in the know to recommend me a wax/polish that i can use on my car. Well before you all start saying "anything you like"smile , i have had some stone guard stuff applied from : http://www.paintshield.co.uk and in their care & maintenance info it says that i should use a wax that doesn't contain any petroleum distillate.

See here point number 10: http://www.paintshield.co.uk/downloads/ps_aftercar...

Am currently using Autoglym Super resin Polish with Extra Gloss Protection used over the top but, would really like to change my products so that it won't harm the stone guard.

Not looking at spending a fortune though i hasten to add.

Thanks in advance !

M3J. smile

really enjoying Finish Kare #1000P

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/sealants/finishkare-...

long lasting, easy to use and looks good

Also use and recommened

Dodo hard candy but more expensive

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/dodo-juice/dodo-...

and Collinite 915 but again a bit more than FK1000

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/collinite-915-ma...

Out of the 3 FK1000 gets my vote

great stuff

have use all these on my bike and kit car which both have Ventureshield on

Its the high solvent type waxes and ones with light cut like auto glym super resin polish to avoid for films ,
and dodo juice pot colour charged waxes have none of the above so all fine

I own a body shop in kent we only use diamondbrite polishes and waxes as these don't contain any silicone. silicone traces are in cheaper waxes they produce a false shine and eventually ruin your paintwork dry out the acrylic content in modern clear coats

If you're going for the Dodo Juice Hard Candy, you could also try the Lime Prime Lite as a paint cleaner (a bit like the SRP without fillers) - it will give the wax a really nice finish to sit on, and shouldn't hurt the film at all.

Also, if you fancy a change in the future or are "showing" the car, I find P21S wax has a fantastic finish for the money, but it doesn't last long.

If you're ever around my neck of the woods, I have several different waxes that you are welcome to try...

That's P21S, and all done up for Le Mans (hence the silly stickers...)

Ian, is this the Lime Prime stuff you speak of? : http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/dodo-juice/dodo-...

Whats the process of application mate? Do you wash the car first in the normal way or do you use this instead of car shampoo?

DJ's LP is their equivalent to AG's SRP - an abrasive glaze (SRP purports to be a sealant!) which will remove some light scratches by hand, and offer a shade more depth/richness to darker paints when the wax is applied over it, having been buffed off first, of course. Just like you would with EGP over buffed SRP, except it has masking agents as well, to fill the light-medium scratches/swirls.
