Alloy repair - not full refurb - in Herts
Discussion
I'd love to be able to afford a full refurb of the full set, but, not until my next pay rise. Meanwhile, I have developed a leak between the rim and the tyre due to corrosion. I can find any number of places that will strip and re-powder coat the set, or do iffy things with paint on one, but the only place I've found so far who will stick one on a lathe, skim off my internal corrosion, and leave the wheel face alone, is in Scotland. I don't want a full refub for the wheel as then it will not match the others.
Does anybody know of a wheel repair place in the Herts area that will accept such a job?

BJV ahh yes the company with the worst customer service in the UK and who's finished wheels are NOT upto Lepsons or one or two others high standards.
I had good service, and as an aside their prices are less than half of Lepsons or Pristine's. However I do think Lepsons/Pristine's quality is in a different league having experienced all 3.belleair302 said:

i've used them before and if I wasn't happy with them I wouldn't reccomend them!Have used pristine too, prices are hideous in comparison, plus they won't touch damaged wheels (anything more than light kerbing).
Why a wheel specialist specifically, for what you want shouldn't any engineering place be able to do what you need?
I used a local place that does CNC machining mostly to skim flywheels and heads etc, then my mate had them lathe the centre bore on the 18's on his skyline for £50.

Of course you would need to take the wheel to them with no tyre on it.....

I've tried many refurbers and www.exelwheels.co.uk is by far the best. They come to you and also leave you a set of loan wheels to keep you on the road.
