Can anyone recommend a firm for this in the south-east, preferably west London or the Berkshire area? Looking to find someone who can put the original logo on them after the colour change.

Cheers

Kelly,

Am I correct in that the Lamborghini caliper had a rougher or courser finish as compared to the red Brembo.

Are they both castings or is the Brembo machined from a billet?

Alternatively is this the difference between wet paint and powder coat?

Prefer the original yellow, certainly against a black wheel smile

Hi Phil

firstly the lambo brakes are not straight forward colour change .

the car is an early murcie which has small "lambo / brembo" calipers , then there was a model change later on in the murcies life span to much better larger brakes calipers /discs and sevro and master cyl .

The car had black calipers (4 pot) as standard with smallish discs for such a car .

The car before i got my hands on it was this wheel and colour combo

so as you can see yellow would clash with the colour of the car some what .

Then brakes shown which started yellow are VAG brakes from RS4 and RS6 with special made alloy bells and rotors to suit this is a much larger set using 8 pot calipers (which where being painted black) this was until the owner sourced the later sytle lambo wheels (needed to clear larger brakes) which he bought in black colour with the idea to have refurbed either in silver or chrome like these ones with have had done recently with lepsons on another murcie detail

once we fitted the wheels to the car still in the black colour i rang the customer to suggest stay with the black wheel colour and paint the calipers silver which i think ended up the best colour combo .

what do you think

The calipers are painted in either powder coat materails or car paint depends on different factors .

rough castings will smooth out with powder coat more than standard car paints as seen with the two examples.

the lambo have less paint build on them compared to the Brembo ones and the brembo had a slightly smoother cast finish to start with

And if you did not guess lepsons paint them for me

wink

Many thanks for the background info.

I think when all said and done I'd prefer the 'high build' paint of the Brembo's over the Audi calipers.

You're probably right regarding the silver calipers suiting the car better but I must say I'm rather spoilt having my daily coffee shop opposite Harrods here in town what with all the middle east cars cruising the strip each evening.

Yellow calipers over a gloss or charcoal black wheel does seem to stand out more than the rest on most car colours even those that one would not think would suit.

One of the guys in the office recently had their Z4 wheels refurbed by your neigbours - very pleased with the results.

Phil the silver brakes we used a heavy flake content which will make them look a little rougher finish in the photos too .

In the flesh/metal there was not alot between the two .

yellow and black combo your right just not on this coloured car ,

glad he was happy with his wheels wink
