Polished lip on rim corroded?
Discussion
I've a 1996 MR2 with what are quite nice aftermarket alloy wheels. The main body of the rims are grand, so its just the rims i need sorted.
I had a go at them with paint remover and then a brillo pad, then autosol, but it had very little effect other than removing the absolute roughness off the corrosion.
Is there anything i can do here other that have the rims refurbed? I really dont want to have to spend a fortune on them...
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The corrosion will have pitted the metal - it'll always look shocking unless you remove some of that metal to get to the goodness underneath. I'd personally get them refurbed and bite the bullet - at 40-80 GBP per wheel (depending on where you go, type of wheel etc) it will be cheap enough and far more effective than having a go yourself.
