Is there a gelcoat on a Flat British racing green TVR

I though only metallics used lacquer?
is lacquer the same as gelcoat?

Gelcoat is a thin smooth layer of resin on the outer surface of a fibreglass moulding to give it a good finish; it's underneath the paint, whereas lacquer is over the outside of the paint.

Yes .... this is indeed right
