Light grey carpet in the car...not been cleaned for years.

What can I use this weekend to clean it?

I guess the best way is to use some sort of cleaner, spray and then agitate/scrub and then vac it up.

But whats the best stuff to use...Megs APC? (Need it to be available from as shop, not online, as I need it for tomorrow).

Thanks

Putting all the BS to one side, any apc will do the job and are easily found in a local supermarket.

Most APCs are high foam builders, ideally you'd want a low foam builder, they type used in carpet cleaning machines.
Light grey, 5 years worth of dirt - you're going to need a serious wet vacuum cleaner.

rent a 'rugdoctor' and go at it with the hand tool ?

you can rent them from several of the DIY shed chains and some dry cleaners , it's 20 quid for 24 hours plus the chemicals ...
