Your UK licence can be converted to a NSW licence easy enough.

As for your training quals - they'll probably need to be assessed by the RTA or someone similar (RTA does all the licensing, registration and blind theft in NSW - www.rta.gov.nsw.au should have a few answers and/or pointers)

Thanks- so what happens in Queensland then?

In my experience, Queenslanders are a different breed... Have worked for 2 companies in Perth with Qld head offices; that was enough to put me off.

Spent a short stint at one HO (mind you it was in Maryborough, about 300Km North of Brisbane). Slow drawling hicks would be a fair description...

The other Co, to be fair, the Brisbane HO was only the Aust branch of a Milwaukee based company; Perth office didn't have a chance of working smoothly with that line of command

I live about 40 minutes,[40 Km] from the Gold coast, & about 40 minutes, [50Km] from Brisbane. I have 19 acres, with river frontage. The house is 5 bedroom, & I have sheds for 5 cars. This is of similar value to a nice house, in a nice suburb.
My daughter lives about 15 minutes from the Gold coast beaches. She has a 3 bedroom 8 years old, double garage home, on a 1/6Th acre block. This is the norm for a family on the Gold coast, & affordable for the average 2 income family.
Your choice of housing ranges from high rise flats, to a house on 1/6 acre block to a house on 5 acres, all within this distance.

I live half way between bris & GC (actually classed as GC) land prices increasing fast , 15000 move here every year , I'd forget the 1Ac idea , most land is now the 4-600m veriarty. have seen a 350% increse in house price in 4 years . I'd recomend the use of an imagration specialist if you are considering coming here. Lots of Spiders snakes etc , warm weather etc - its a harsh life , sorry got to get ready for Indy. you will need a driving lisc before 3 months is up (they get carried away over that)But a lot depends on wether you are after a "rural" lifestyle of more the Brisbane(evening at the cafe on the river) or GC (Clubs etc) all are available within an hour . remeber Bris to GC is only 50 mins (1h 20 peak times)
