Hi Guys,

The travelling bug finally caught me so last week I walked into the travel agent and booked an open return to Australia. I've just been granted a one year working holiday visa allowing me to work with the same employer for no more than 6 months, and with little time to organise quite a lot I thought I'd ask the Pistonhead faithful if they had job hunting tips, or knew of anyone looking for a hardworking petrol head to plug a six month gap.

My background is motoring PR although I've done a spot of journalism, customer service work, marketing, bar work etc etc so am open to any suggestions or advice.

Cheers

Sue I would say there is a very good chance for your partner to obtain employment as a diesel mechanic or truck driver. Both fields with shortages here . Especially for truck mechanics.

Hi

Have a look at the Australian goverment website to get a list of the latest skills shortage list, a quick link to this website may help.

www.australia-migration.com/page/MODL/58

There is also a Migration show at Sandown close to London on the 3rd and 4th of March, we went last year and got some invaluable information and we plan to be in Australia later this year.

Hope this helps

Nick.
