Hi all, is there anyone on here thats from Mooloolaba or has anyone been there?

We are hoping to be there in February, the plan is my partner is going to college at Sunshine Coast Tafe in Mooloolaba and I was wondering what the place is like?

We are doing this to increase our chances on the points system and thought that it would be best for Leanne to study there while we apply to stay.

We visited Australia before and have just spent three months touring Europe but Australia is our favourite place.

I have been to Brisbane and Cairns before, but never Mooloolaba, from what I have been told its a nice place to live in the Sunshine Coast.

Any comments are greatly appreciated by us both.

Thanks

Nick

Mooloolaba's a great spot, but is like a tourist resort - lots of high rise hotels on the sea-front. Great surf club as well. If you can't find anywhere to live there, try either going up the coast a bit to Alex Headland or down the coast a bit to Caloundra.

Have a look on www.realestate.com.au for rental accommodation - usually plenty about as there are sooooooooo many units available.

Enjoy.

Hi, fantastic website thanks for that, would you say those area's are a lot less built up than Mooloolaba?

And what distance / travelling time would it take from Alexandra Headland or Caloundra to Mooloolaba, so I can get an idea of transport Leanne would need to get to college, ie walk/bike or car.

All the best Nick

Caloundra to Mooloolaba is about a 20-30min drive - currently there is no train and I've no idea about buses. Alex Headland is only a couple of kays from Mooloolaba. Mooloolaba should be a good place to live, just remember its a tourist resort. Caloundra is less touristy.

You really need to get a map of the locality to see where all the suburbs are - can't recommend one on web I'm afraid.

Happy hunting.
