James, Kym had some great pics I saw on Arsebook (which I can only view on my iPhone) which means you're witholding some excellent pics. Of cars.
Yep they were taken at Targa West. I will try and get some pics up later.James, Kym had some great pics I saw on Arsebook (which I can only view on my iPhone) which means you're witholding some excellent pics. Of cars.

Spotted me looking at my bank account balance, at a supercharged NA MX5 and then back to my bank balance.
Any WA Members want to help me out inspecting a car?
Do you know where in WA it is?Any WA Members want to help me out inspecting a car?
Also have a nose around www.mx5cartalk.com as the car may be known to them or might have a build thread.
I don't mind helping out where possible.

Cheers mate, the offer is appreciated.
ETA: Don't forget NSW rego. I don't know what year Rod's is, but you want to hope it's an '89. After '89 you have to adhere to a whole load of ADRs, notably emissions which it may well have a problem with. I got mine from Victoria, so had to go the same blue slip route. Speaking with Engineers the chance of ti passing emissions tests were slim. In the end I ended up removing the supercharger etc to get it through then reinstating. Then driving around worried sick half the time. And it's not as if that thing wouldn't get pulled over and checked out.
It also looks like it isn't an Australian delivered one. Potentially more trouble, mine was at least that.
Even if all the above is cool, the Engineering is going to cost you.

Bugger - Pretty sure it's a 1990. It also looks like it isn't an Australian delivered one. Potentially more trouble, mine was at least that.

Ny understanding was if it had the engineering certificate signed off by an RTA Approved Engineer (and I double checked - there are some in WA - then the engineering did not need to be signed off again. But it will need a blue slip, and I've been through that before.
I'm going to give him a call tonight and have a chat about it. If it ticks the boxes all good.
If not there is a 1993 with a 1.8 conversion in QLD that doesn't need a certificate as it is a replacement engine that was available in that model year.
You raise good points. Damn you.

In Sydney on the emissions side of things have a chat to Matt @ The Hitman at Penrith the basis of his business is getting modified cars and ICVs through the emissions lab, cost me $1200 for my clubbie for the tune and his time to take it to the lab.Ny understanding was if it had the engineering certificate signed off by an RTA Approved Engineer (and I double checked - there are some in WA - then the engineering did not need to be signed off again. He takes so many there he has the leeway to tune while they test if there's issues, mine was too lean due to a blocked injector so he richened the necessary load points and it sailed through. The injector is now fixed and it pulls like an under 16's footy team.
