Hi guys,

Currently have a dilemma for replacement for my caterham and exige seems a good fit (although stuck between a couple of options).

With values as they are, an s is top end of budget (and not sure a n/a will be enough for me coming from a 160bhp caterham).

I've seen one on the classifieds (a 240s) with 77k miles. Subject to condition and service history showing obvious things replaced etc that alone doesn't concern me too much. However, resale does. It is a second car for me so weekend fun and track days etc but likely to put say 5k a year on it. What is resale like for exiges with say 90k + miles when I possibly come to sell in a few years time. I appreciate everything has a price but wouldn't want to be stuck with it or take a bath on resale value.

Cheers,

Dave

Definitely harder to sell, but as long as you get it at a good price (last one I saw at a similar mileage - 70k - sold at about £23k), and price it accordingly when selling it could be a cheaper way into S2 Exige S ownership.

The less than 40k ones with the right spec (performance/sports and touring packs) are selling very quickly. So makes sure the one you buy has them ideally as well as it will make it easier to sell.

Cheers. I hadn't appreciated the different packs so will look out for that.

There is one local to mecso I am trying to track him down for a nosey and get a feel for them.

Cheers,

Dave

Hi I bought a high mileage one 2005 S2 Exige S/C 4 pots 92K miles! very very well looked after and even tracked quite a lot, buy on condition, I would always prefer a "used" one to a garage queen, as I commute most days 52 miles M4 M25!

Hi and to add never thought I would like a car more than my 385BHP Caterham, not apples for apples I agree but the Exige is so accomplished in many ways, my Caterham bonkers!

385bhp Caterham must be MENTAL!

Good to get your insight on higher mileage exige - thanks.

My Caterham has done 40k so I guess could be considered higher mileage and like you, I bought it on condition. So maybe I have answered my own question somewhat...

Need to sell the Caterham before I do anything anyway so plenty time to see whats available.

Cheers,

Dave
