Off to Goodwood tomorrow ready to pay a deposit.
Verdant green, tan leather, V6 3.5L, but manual or auto…. So close to a decision…
Definitely not a specification for resale value, but hey… it’s for me.
Buy for you for sure. Great classic colour combo. Verdant green, tan leather, V6 3.5L, but manual or auto…. So close to a decision…

I am pretty much decided in my head already on the grey/black alcantara, red calipers and red interior stitching. Black wheels. Will see what the price is on the black pack before deciding. Temptation is to get roof wrapped as I did with the Evora as then its reversible (as well as probably a 1/4 of the price).

Question for those who’ve deposited via Lotus website.
How long before you got confirmation? I’ve had nothing yet and each time I go back to website it seems to have remembered my details but still shows “processing”
Placed mine on the evening of launch and got the email almost instantly. How long before you got confirmation? I’ve had nothing yet and each time I go back to website it seems to have remembered my details but still shows “processing”
Received an email from my preferred/local dealer the following morning.

To be fair, the amount of people saying they are going for the green/tan, I think resale on it would be strong!

I’ve got two specs in mind. Launch colours Blue with yellow details or dark grey with red details. Black alcamtara seats and steering wheel In both cases. Though by the time I get around to ordering I may go green and tan I am pretty much decided in my head already on the grey/black alcantara, red calipers and red interior stitching. Black wheels. Would have liked to seen a white option.

No interest in a more German Lotus, Astons have also lost a lot of appeal since switching to Merc engines and interior switchgear. Would rather have a final Elise instead. Lotus won’t make anything like it again.
Unfortunately, people don't buy them in sufficient numbers for Lotus to make a profit.Guys, wait till you see it. As an old Elise owner yes it's a shame it's not an affordable road/track car that weighs under a tonne but thats not the market they are after (and nor should they be).
But I spent a good hour on the GFOS stand today poring over it. Its really, really stunning in real life. The blue paint is a lovely complex pearlescent finish a bit like the Focus RS colour - way more impressive in real life than any photo. I reckon the green or yellow will be incredible.
The car is competing with the 981 Cayman on price yes, but even as a massive Porsche fan, you wouldn't even notice a a Cayman when parked next door. The Emira really does have proper, complex, exotic, supercar type presence - I'm talking high end modern Ferrari. It's an expensive car at £75k yes, but it looks and feels like a really, really expensive car.
I'm very envious of those of you in here who are in th position to throw a deposit on one, your in for a treat when you see it!

Can I ask why Lotus don't just use the ZF DCT on the V6?
Suspect they have a bunch of the Toyota torque converter transmissions (and V6 engines!) they are trying to clear out! Even if they had to use a torque converter box, I would have hoped the ZF 8 speed would have been used as it has received such high praise.
Suspect too costly to engineer the AMG DCT for the V6, as Lotus are just buying the entire power train from AMG ?

Agreed. Deposit paid yesterday. . Now the wait…Every time I think I have decided, I get my head turned by this green and tan.
Going to be sleepless nights when I have to officially lock down spec.
