S2 Exige internal door release a little sticky.

Passenger side of my '08 exige, the internal door release doesn't feel right. Hard to describe but it doesn't really release positively. You can't feel the resistance change as it unlatches. Just feels mushy and completely different to the driver's side. It does work fine though. I have a concern that the cable could be its way out. Is this a common issue?
