Sorry neutral 3, only just spotted your post. I had never heard of The Champions. Just looked it up on the net and now I am dying to find out more. Saw the SS. The leading lady looked better!

You are probably aware that a White one was used in the 60s tv series The Champions starring the lovely Alexandra Bastedo.
Who now runs an animal sanctuary in Sussex. I drive past it regularly

wonderful news. Very well done. I dont need to ask you if it was worth it. Now, how long will it take you to run-in and really start using that engine??

Not exactly a restoration, but same principles apply.

These two last sets of photos show just how achingly beautiful cars can be. To me, pure automotive art and worthy of praise equal to other forms of artistic endeavour cloud9

Also, no doubt both were quite expensive to do. Just shows some people with money actually DO have taste.

Thanks for all the kind words. Running in is 1000 miles, but it sat on the M25 at a steady 70 yesterday no problem so I can definitely go places! The real surprise is how small the car is inside. It fits me like a glove, but I am on the small side and anyone who is 5' 10" or above would struggle for sure.

It will definitely be at Goodwood soon, but not sure about 14th.

Just realised you said Brooklands on 14th. Is it Breakfast Club equivalent?

Superb work on the SS! Luke Gilbertson, a rather good photographer, saw another in London recently
