Anyone recognize this Ghibli SS Spyder ??
One of only four built in RHD, I think some publicity shots feature a metallic green one. Peter Wyngarde drove a yellow RHD example (very briefly, sadly) in an episode of 'Department S', a blink and you'll miss it appearance.
I love old pages of mixed classifieds.

So if we take a random ten from this page how would they have performed in investment terms? My guess would be:

Ferrari 275. Was £3,250. Now £?
Ghibili Spyder Was £6,750 Now £?
1972 Fiat Dino Spyder. Was £4,350. Now £75k
1965 Sunbeam Tiger. Was £595. Now £70k
1971 Alfa Montreal. Was £3,875. Now £60k
1972 Interceptor. Was £5,950. Now £50k
1972 V12 E Type . Was £3,195. Now £40k
1972 RS1600. Was £1,295. Now £30k
1970 S3 Lotus 7. Was £850. Now £20k
1972 Gilbern Invader. Was £1,675. Now £10k

Any idea which episode of Dept S the Ghibli was in ?
In late 75 / 76, i regularly used to see a silver ? Ghibli SS Spyder parken in Cambden Passage, Islington. Sure it had a red trim. Whether it was a factory colour i dont know, but it looked incredible parked up amongst the often seen poridge. The only other nice car i recall seeing parked nearby, was Chris Farlowes absolutly filthy heap of an Interceptor ( S.2 i think ) parked outside his militaria shop “ Call To Arms” and the lovely M reg lilac V-12 2+2 E - Type of my Dads pal Eddie Kenton.

Not off hand, I'll have a look though when I get a chance.

I don't know if he owned the Ghibli but I know he owned at least two Bentley S2 Continental Flying Spurs, both of which he used in Depsrtment S and later in Jason King!

Looks like 'L 55-T' which is odd, probably a made up plate, I've never really understood European registration numbers!

Note the Ghibli “ Fire Hunter” in the background. From memory, this is Monza, 1973. Im sure i have seen mention somewhere before of a Ghibli fire truck.

That reminds me - the safety car for the '71 Monaco GP was a yellow Ghibli, it makes a brief appearance in Roman Polanski's 'Weekend Of A Champion' where he follows Jackie Stewart around (with the wee Scot in his underpants in some scenes, life was very different in 1971 wink )

I can't wait to see more photos of this project as they are great cars.

Here is one that I spotted on the road in France when I joined the Fougere classic car rally in 2017........

SNAP! Do I get to keep it now? I didn't get the plate but almost certainly the same car, Le Mans Classic 2016.

It'll be a permissions issue, they may not be shared publicly, but you're logged into your google account which is why you can see them

You may need to add them to a shared album. I'm not sure as I don't use Google photos much
