If the car is not sold (or fit to be sold) the commercial value will not be revealed.

If it is a prize, does it have to be in a "useable" condition? Winner beware??

Damaged piston? Didn't even take the cylinder head off? That must be the piston in the SU carburettor then!

Did you see how much filler flaked off the lower corner when he reversed it into that engine?
I thought that Jaguar used lead loading at that time to make their bodywork perfect, not plastic filler. I recall seeing Mark Evans having a go at lead loading his E-Type in his "Is Born" series. It looks like it needs a lot of practice!

They definitely used lead loading at the factory at some point. Whether they ever used plastic filler I don't know.

if no one called the competition line and made their opinions known to the programmme sponsors I am sure that channel 5 would pull the show..

All that smoke could have been the piston/seal/a leak in the brake servo - brake fluid being sucked into the manifold would casue that kind of thing, and it would be a relatavely easy fix.

with the smoky engine bit, they kept banging on, "oh bladdy ell, 'ope it ain't the bleedin engine gone guvnor" then "cor blimey, that woz bleedin good luck, innit" but in the end they did open up the engine to 'repair a piston' anyway, and didn't mention it

erm, i know that... it was more interesting to find out which company was responsible for such a dire production.... I bet the 911 owners club are stting themselves.. I would be surprised if ANY rspectable Classic car owners club would allow them to place a wanted ad after reviewing their last offering..

I know, I know, it is my own fking fault that I watched that clip.

How did it make me feel? It made me want to travel back in time to the point they were filming that clip and lay a small but deadly mine field in the path of the Porsche. Then, once the terrible explosions had ripped them both to shreds I would turn a gun on myself, just to make sure I never, ever have to see or hear either of those s ever again.
