I think there is some moderation required here. Sure the show isn't what we expected or hoped for as petrolheads. It is however turning into successful entertainment and therefore it will probably be good for the production company so well done (this isn't easy). I doubt 1.1 million would be tuning in to watch a milling machine turn a 4.3litre into a 6 litre for an hour or how a coach worker manages to measure out an interior.
Oh and if Adrian Flux wanted exposure to the Classic car insurance market - they got it. I doubt many people correlate Adrian Flux with the chuckle brothers Bernie and Mario, its purely exposure and viewing numbers. In the same way Talk Talk arn't too bothered about the quality of X Factor contestants.

No because the X Factor hits Talk Talk the demographic square in the face to the tune of four or five million viewers. However, when companies embark upon a marketing campaign exposure isn't the only issue; many other factors are included in the mix including what effect the association will have on the brand image.Talk Talk are aiming their product at Darren and Chantel (which according to our producer chappie is the same audience where CCR is aimed), whereas I think you will find the average Adrian Flux customer a little more discerning.
A Pound to a pinch of excrement says they don't sponsor the next series (if there is one).
It's a TV programme FFS.
Everything you see on TV is not true. People on this forum can bh and moan & threaten to take legal action but no one outside of this forum is taking a blind bit of notice.
If Adrian Flux continue to offer me a reasonable price on my insurance I will continue to insure my car with them. If it gets good viewing figures a second series will be made. The classic car movement will not die. The Classic Car business will not be wiped from the face of the earth.
From this forum's perspective (and mine) this TV programme is dog sh*t but get over it.

Yes there is, just look at Overhaulin's viewing figures in the UK; Which has completed 5 series and started a 6th in the US this month. Wonder how many series of CCR we will get?

CCR or Chop Cut Rebuild has been going since the 80's and inspired most of the rebuild shows out there. Wonder how many series of CCR we will get?
I would hope Classic Car Rescue either gets its poo together or doesn't get recommissioned.

Hey dear guys and girls, to the people who liked the shows, many thanks. I was the series producer on the series. To those who didn't enjoy I'm really sorry. I'd have preferred it if you did obviously. It wasn't any part of our intention to suggest the trade was like Bernie and Mario, and I really don't think any viewer was left with the impression that professional restorers would behave like our presenters. No-one seriously thinks that if they take their MGB to a professional restorer it's going to be done in as rushed a way as our guys had to do it, or that the same things will happen (never mind all the rows). Apologies if anyone has really had ordinary customers seem confused about the reality of the trade. My brother in law who's a car nut was disappointed too, and wanted more detailed information on "how to restore cars" I had to explain to him, that's not what this show is about. This is an entertaining series aimed at a general audience, not just classic car enthusiasts alone. It has rated really well by the way with 1.1million people for almost all the shows which is a good audience for its slot and one that hasn't dropped so someone's liking it (probably younger people who want to be entertained as well as learn a little bit about cars?). Maybe this will turn out to be a good thing in the long run for the trade- a whole bunch of younger people getting turned on by classic cars...! By the way, we weren't ignoring the comments, here, and sorry if it felt like this- we were literally finishing the shows. The series has been made very quickly to a very tight schedule. In fact i just got back from Canada where we finished the Cadillac edit on Friday and the mini show has yet to be delivered! Gulp. Hence the delay in replying. I'm happy to answer questions if it helps. Many thanks for feeling strongly enough to comment (both good and bad). Even if it wasn't the intention comments help create a buzz (of some sort!) around a series.
Well said. It's still a crap program but I'm going to watch it. http://www.channel5.com/shows/classic-car-rescue/e...

The truth of the matter is that even restoring to condition 1 will often cost more than the car is worth. A fine example of this is the MGB and the E Type restored by Mark Wallace. I think the latter cost him the sharp end of 60 grand - and he did a fair amount of the work himself.
Gulp!
Mark who? Is he related to the Mark Evans that did those excellent programmes?! If I recall correctly the E-type ended up costing him north of 80K. But I've just found out the series is on you tube, so I shall watch it again to find out, rather than waste any more of my life on those two clowns on CCR...!!Gulp!

Ewwww, a little bit of sick came up then.
Anyone seen Fast & Loud? Same sort of program but nowhere near as bad as CCR.
