Here's one I took a couple of years ago;

They look quite similar "sized" to me. The only real difference is the more bloated styling of the newer model to accommodate a bigger boot and more rear headroom.
Perhaps that picture wasn't taken at a very good angle. The X350 is a fair bit wider and taller than the XJ40; this is noticeable when they're parked side by side in a decent picture.

I've posted this elsewhere I think but it fits the bill. A slightly unfair comparison as one has two more (small) seats than the other...

Here's a pic of my 67 Mustang, and my new Ka. Not sure if the Mustang looks small, or the Ka looks big!

The Ka looks massive!

Beautiful Mustang BTW.

That's just silly. It looks like a die-cast model company has the scale wrong.

I really like the Mustang though, good colour choice too.

Leg, you wouldnt have happened to be a former TTForum user (possibly still do)?. That garage/M3 triggered a memory from a build thread on there. Random I know, as its been about 6 years since I was on there, but something seemed familar.
Yeah, I am he mate. I was on the club commitee and wrote for the magazine. When I first bought this house I still had my mk1 v6 TT. A black one with red leather and bbs wheels. It was in the magazine and quite well known. Weirdly I sold it 4.5 years ago and came across it 4 weeks ago just 3 miles away.

My JCW Mini has gone now too. New 981s has replaced it.

I don't have a photo but the latest 911 looks like a big old blob.

Be interesting to see one next to an early model.
From previous page - 993 vs 997 wink

Okay, so not the latest 991 (but close enough to the 997) - but the 993 is essentially the same shell as the original...

ISTR the new 991C4 is 10 inches wider than the original 911.

Modern cars have become fat, bloated and slab sided with oversized headlights and rear lights. Styling is a thing of the past.
