Been using a Carport with fans for my Duetto for the last couple of years. All has seemed fine. however, I did have a couple of spots of paint blistering, that I need to get sorted. It will have to wait until spring, so I have bought a dehumidifier to make sure it does not get worse.

Got a Blyss from Screwfix, and a separate temp / humidity gauge so I can peer in through the window without opening the bubble.

The DH is set at 50%, with a drain. The Caroport is in an open garage - I decided it might be best to turn the fans off to avoid circulating damp air, and opt for the DH.

Will see how I get on.

Well, the insulation has now been in place for 10 days and we have had a fair amount of rain. When I plugged in the dehumidifier it was US - again. I bought a well-known make called Trotec three years ago and the first machine lasted less that two years and was replaced under warranty. The new one lasted one year and is, according to them, out of warranty because my guarantee dates from the purchase of the first one. A make to avoid. Anyway, I've just been out to the garage, and even without the dehumidifier we are at 55%, so I'll watch the level over the winter and only buy a new dehumidifier if necessary. All in all, the rockwool and the aluminium insulations combined, I spent a grand total of £70 on the four doors and about £270 on the roof so if I don't need a Veloce, quids in. We'll see.

Today being nearly two months on, and it being -6C outside, I went and checked on the cars. Humidity 52%, and temperature 5C. So, it seems that for about £75 of insulation, I shall not be needing to purchase a Veloce, and a great saving. A happy bunny!

The humidity will probably be very low today anyway with the cold. My dehumidifers have shut off and the garage is 50% on its own. Check what it's like on a day when it's 80+% outside. Don't get me wrong you've done the best thing for almost free by insulating it.

My dehumidifier is running quite a few hours every day inside my Veloce. No point in trying to heat/dehumidify my barn as it’s too big a space.

Lowdrag, good to hear your insulation is working

Managed to get through this morning.

Size I need (Extra Small) isn't in stock. With the current Covid situation they aren't sure when they're going to get some - probably end of the year. Can't specify a colour either.

If 3 were ordered they'd offer a 10% discount.

I'm going to have a mooch around and see if any of the other stockists have any, but suspect they won't of this size.
Quick update on this, but Carcoon continue to have no stock of the size I needed and could give no idea when any can be created.

So I bought an AirChamber instead. Great customer service and the product was delivered in a few days.

Nice product. My biggest reservation pre-purchase was the use of velcro at the base of the doors, but it's pretty industrial stuff. A bit more of a faff to get a "seal" with, but should hopefully be fine. (Items down the centre of the bay now removed and tidy up/redistribution of clutter is ongoing!).

I'll be using the car cover on the car too in order to delay the paint fading (has done a great job of that for the last 10yrs smile).

Carcoon has horrible non-existent customer service, I struggle to understand how they are still in business.

I have an external carcoon which works, let's be honest its not rocket science, a big bag with two filtered fans. - As the product was fine I tried to buy an indoor version.

Knowing that they never reply to e-mail, from my previous purchase, I decided to call to order, was told the item was in stock and I would receive it in 2 - 3 days, perhaps predictably it did not arrive, I called for an update, no answer, left a message no call back, eventually got to talk to Joyce who said she would come back to me with an update, this was 8 days after ordering, she did not call back.

3 weeks later still no Carcoon, I called, nobody picked up so I left a message telling them to cancel my order.

If pre-sales service is this bad, when your trying to spend upwards of £600 I can only image how difficult it would be if the item turned up damaged or you ever needed any replacement parts!

I placed an order with Airflow and bought an Airchamber
