405 SBH...... I own this registration and it's currently on my car. Don't quite understand the situation of it being bought for £450?
Ok... The actual MK 2 jag from the withnail and I film- you say you sold it to a friend in France?
Has he still got it? What reg is on it?
Do you have recent pics of the car?
Many thanks.

Presumably 'well' is a typo of 'sell' - he sold the plate, you [later] bought it.

Hi, yes well is a typo , I was out shopping and came back to the jag 405 SBH and found a note on the screen asking if I wanted to sell the plate or the jag .i sold the plate for iirc £450 , I knew nothing about the film at that time , the transfer was done at Chelmsford tax office , the guy I swapped with also had a jag (xj6) I kept the jag and went to a car show in Belgium , on the way back I sold it to my friend at Ostend , he took it onto Paris to sell on , I only have I photo of the jag after it had the plate swapped , the guy I swapped the plate to was Steven Brian Harris , SBH , I wish I never sold it or transfers the plate , but if I didn't transfer the plate Swansea would have scrubbed it if it was registered abroad ,

Brilliant, many thanks for the reply.
Shame about the situation but at least you owned and drove the car.
Would you be so kind to possibly send me the one photo of the Jag you have?
kirkgilroy@hotmail.co.uk.
No worries if this is not possible.

It’s onlu that price because it’s been featured in a film I guess although I would say the audience for it would be pretty limited

If that number plate was a £1000 or Maybe £2000, I'd buy it and transfer it onto a replica Mk2. How fking cool would that be.

Well that’s what he is hoping for isn’t he but at the end of the day how many people remember the film, the car and the registration plate for it to be cool enough to pay for. If you have to explain it to people then it’s loses it’s impact.

I'd be careful with that, I think both vehicles have to be MOT'd before swapping.
The Audi hasn't got one so may mean a bit of work before it could be done, worth checking before spending anything.

If MOT not needed now then there shouldn't be a problem,
I don't know if rules have changed or that it wasn't the case at all but just thought that if I was thinking of buying it then I would find out for sure.
Saves any upset later.
