I remember being shown around Crow Crag (Sleddale Hall) by the new owner around 10 years ago as I mountain biked over from Haweswater and through Longsleddale towards Shap.
The guy was a lovely, friendly, chap - an Architect from Kent ISTR who drove up each Friday, did some work on his own and then went back to Kent on the Sunday! The place was just a bleak as it appears in the film.
...I keep meaning to re visit and see if he ever finished it.
...I mean 'Wetsleddale' (and by christ it certainly lived up to its name)The guy was a lovely, friendly, chap - an Architect from Kent ISTR who drove up each Friday, did some work on his own and then went back to Kent on the Sunday! The place was just a bleak as it appears in the film.
