Chris Evans' latest Italian classic

I like bigger coupes and the 130 has something about it. But someone above posted the Gamma Coupe and that trounces the 130 on every front. Still on my should-I/shouldn't-I list...

Probably the prettiest of all the Pininfarina designs of the time, pity the Rolls Royce Camargue penned by the same man(Paolo Martin)looks so wrong.
The Camargue is a marmite RR. I love marmite, and was hoping that the haters would mean they just got cheaper and cheaper. Alas, in the last few years, it seems they've gone up in value. how much would one of these 130's be worth? I have come across one in mint condition with lots of spares, its an auto but includes (cut and paste) ' 2 x engines....1 x original & 1 x fully rebuilt, 1 x rebuilt gearbox, original factory Cromodora 14" alloys on grizio coloured car have brand new high performance 215 X 65 X 14" Pirelli P6000s), spare doors & bootlid, & tons of irreplaceable & hard to find spares included, dashes, bumper bars, suspension, timberwork, grilles, trimwork '
Nothing, let me know where it is and I'll help get it shifted ;o)
In seriousness it depends a little if it is right hand drive, being an auto is a little less desirable but arguably suits the car well, just a little slower than the manual.
I would say a very good left hand drive auto (unrestored) could be picked up for about £7k. Not that I've been looking. Much.
The bundle of spares could be very appealing too.
ETA... RHD will add a bit, leather might, but I don't know what it will cost you to ship over from Australia though and let him keep the Ferrari wheels ;o)

it will be a few grand to ship and get an MOT. I dont really like the ferrari wheels so would definately let him keep them. Again another one I dont think is viable. its only got -40k miles on the clock though which is pretty low. Lovely car.
A favourite of Martin Buckley of Classic Car and Sports Car magazine...he's forever mentioning them.
They have always been "cheap" for what they are given the limited numbers built and design pedigree.
It's nice to see someone like Chris Evans valuing a car for what it is, people moan about him spending x amount of money on a car, but a purchase like this shows that he is not all about spending huge amounts on a car to blow his own trumpet.

I've not noticed before but the swage line between the door handles and glasshouse seems to converge and terminate betweeen the headlamps and side indicator repeater in a way not dissimilar to the also designed by Pininfarina Peugeot 505.
Pinninfarina did some great stuff for FIAT:Pinninfarina Spider

Shame Lancia did not get this:
The Marica fitted in the period programme.

So there seems to be plenty of choice in Europe but surely one needs a pair of left dipping headlights to pass a UK MoT??
Which are presumably made from unobtainium?
But electrical tape is easy to obtain, and perfectly legal for MOT purposes.Which are presumably made from unobtainium?
I remember FIAT 130's in the early 80's.
Whenever you saw one, it was misfiring, and just rough looking.
Awful p[anel fit, they were mostly damp inside.
No-one wanted them.
The Ferrari engine was a nightmare to maintain.
A proper collectors car.
Drive ten mile, then go back and collect all the bits that's fallen off.
LOL
Good on you Chris.
