Cartell.ie says...Registration H394GRF
Make AUDI
Model COUPE
Description 20V QUATTRO
DVLA says...
Vehicle make: AUDI
Date of first registration: August 1990
Year of manufacture: 1990
Cylinder capacity (cc): 2309 cc
DVLA also says there's a SORN in place on it, and the MOT expired in August. Not sure when you took the picture, but someone could well be driving that illegally. I'm not about to check (because apparently it's not legal to check someone else's insurance status) but if it hasn't got an MOT or tax, then it's not a huge stretch to imagine it might also be uninsured.
Apologies, of course, if the picture pre-dates 18 August 2017.

They also have 'quattro' picked out in the rear screen heating element which is quite cool. Or quite warm depending on the switch position.
Later ur-Quattros have that too. Also cool is that it reads 'right' in the rear-view mirror. droopsnoot said:
My '86 coupe quattro has that. The 'quattro' bit is a double element, so it defrosts quicker than the rest of the screen.
I used to look forward to frosty mornings. It wasn't a quick car in the 0 to 60 sense but you could maintain your speed. Very little unsettled it when pressing on.
When we sold it, the lad who bought it wrote to my wife and me a few weeks later to say how pleased he was with it. That doesn't happen very often.

That's a better ending than when we sold ours. The new owner of that emailed to say he'd stuffed it into a wall. It wasn't a quick car in the 0 to 60 sense but you could maintain your speed. Very little unsettled it when pressing on.

Then about three years later I happened to see it being carried up the M4 on a flatbed truck.
Then last year I saw it all beautifully restored on eBay "buy it now", for £4000 or so.
Then I regretted not buying it.
Then I remembered I've got far too many other projects.

I had the Corgi model with Carlsberg powerboat as a kid - just Googled it out of curiosity - €80!!!A friend of mine had a Gran Finale back in the mid 90's - it looked good but beyond that, there was no redeeming feature whatsoever. It had lost the design purity of the early car, and was a slow, leaky, unreliable mess going crusty around the edges despite being only around 4 or 5 years old. Toyota showed how it should have been done with the Mk 1 MR2.
