Also, after April next year, it would appear that you can only display black n silver plates if you are VHI, so if you have a modded classic and go for MOT, you will need to run current white/yellow plates?
You really couldn't make this crazy st up......

Brilliant ! 'Run' white/yellow plates! How do you run plates?

That sounds sensible really – the newer plates are more visible and I put white/yello plates on mine even though it (currently) qualifies for the black ones for just this reason. You really couldn't make this crazy st up......
I would guess that modified classics get used quite a bit more than the completely original spec cars, so it makes sense. Also the need to test them, come to that.

Hmmmnnnn.............OK, I hadn't even realised that they had changed the regs back in 2015, from the previous defined date of registered prior to end of Dec 1972 as being the cut-off date for black silver plates.
Why on earth have they changed that
I got the impression that it was unintended. Some wording during the period that both the VED exemption and silver/black plates cut-off dates were the same was retained, so when the VED exemption date changed, the plates date came with it.Why on earth have they changed that

That looks like Wrenbury - I wish I'd known that meeting was on as it is very local to me.
It is indeed. I don't think they make a big thing of it outside the club people bringing cars because there isn't much room in the car park.Very difficult to find a parking space by 10am, due to sheer number of old cars.

He was still within the width of the bay though. They made them wider along each side of the High Street a few years ago when it was resurfaced and repainted. The trouble now is when you're squeezing into a short gap left between two much wider cars it is harder to get the car close to the kerb.https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.2749714,-0.74447...

Not sure whether this '68 is still owned by the same guy (Damian) who built it a few years back - London somewhere he was from, can't remember where. We had it on the front of the club mag just after it was finished. He wasn't on the forum for quite a bit not long after so he might have sold it. It was originally blue and had been in a small fire.Absolutely stunning.

This particular paint finish is House of Kolor Brandy Wine ... and in the photo it looks superb - not seen this car in the flesh but at the NEC show back in November I saw a Cobra replica in the same colour combined with a matt grey - it was lush!
The paint on the '68 was over two coats of silver base which itself was over two coats of transparent black ...
The red/black interior I'm not a great fan of - I'd have gone with all black but other than that - incredible ...
A lot of the spec above was pretty similar to my own rebuild (a '66) and I went for a similar colour - but not the exact same one!
