I was told that the 420 sold more examples in its short production life than any of the other compact Jags.
Not too sure about that, the Mk2 models (including the later 240, 340 and Daimler 250 / V8s) ran to over 80,000 between 1969 and 1969, my guess is the 420 only managed a few thousand between 1966 and 1969.aeropilot said:

The R reg SAAB 96 in maroon was one of the last UK cars.
Saab 96 Souvenir, 1 of 150, and as said, the final UK cars.I Didn't start there till 79 but saw the S reg car for servicing for a few years.

I nipped down to Santa Pod this morning for the Mini In The Park show, lots of the usual stuff as expected (mostly modified '80s and '90s classic Minis) but I was pleased to see one of the original Mokes from 'The Prisoner' freshly restored...
It usually wore a 'TAXI' sign over the number plates but occasionally appeared with its own reg' number...

I am NOT a numberI am a free Moke.
amongst the later classic Minis down at 'Pod was this '63 Mk1 in fetching 'Fiesta Yellow', it was not a popular hue at the time and is difficult to capture accurately in photographs...
