It was featured in 'Car' mag when it was new...

Not when it was new, I think that was very early 80's from memory?

I remember buying the mag just fro the Muira feature boxedin
Have you read the first couple of paragraphs?
eek
Ouch! I wonder how long it sat around before values reached a point where it was economical to repair? £1.5m+ buys a lot of Isopon smile

Considering the impeccable styling credentials and the impact they made at the time, I think those Golfs can still be had for reasonable money.

That one would look better with the original wheels IMO.

This really might not be the correct thread for this one, but I don't know, so Ill give it a try! Spotted this along the road from where we're staycationing this week. That's a Merc star on the top of the radiator, but I don't know whether this is real, a kit, or what.

I couldn't get any more of a picture without wandering into the drive and the house is quite close to the road. The car is accompanied by an ageing S80 and a Mk4 Golf on the drive, not that that determines anything much.

That's an Excalibur: loosely based on the styling of a Mercedes Benz SSK from the late 1920s.
They were made in the USA from the early 1970s until 1990, using GM running gear.
The mascot is a sword in a circle.

The car is likely an excalibur, probably from the 80ies.
Please can you elaborate what exactly you're doing this week? Even the quotation function couldn't parse this one correctly.

Of course I meant a “Merc” star although autocorrect knew better!

We’re holidaying quite close to home. I don’t honestly know whether that’s staycationing, or whether that term means you actually stay at your own home!

Private estate in W Sussex fwiw.

Don't think so. The blue car in the foreground is an 18. The green car can't be, not least because the bumper of the green car meets the rear arch which isn't the case for the 18.

Ah, sorry. Was looking at the wrong car.

How about a B2 Audi 80?

The blue car in the foreground is an 18. We're talking about the green saloon tucked in next to the white Cortina. It does look like a Solara, although the Cortina seems gigantic next to it....

Saw this in Dartmouth Park - early model CX Pallas in very good nick looking like a daily runner.

This is a familiar site to anyone in the Muswell Hill area - always out and about. Immaculate.

Just spotted a bright yellow Testarossa in Fawkham. No pic sadly.

Another cracking event. One of my favourites.

My wife remarked that the little Innocenti was "so cute" and I'd forgotten how cool they were. Used to see loads in daily use when my parents lived in Rome in the early 80s. Rarely in as good nick as that example.

Unless I'm mistaken, that one will have said 'De Tomaso' on the back.

Weren’t they also sold as the AutoBianchi A112, or was that a different car? Did an Arbarth version too.

The black car is an Innocenti, just done a reg check.
