Weren’t they also sold as the AutoBianchi A112, or was that a different car? Did an Arbarth version too.
The black car is an Innocenti, just done a reg check.
It was written all over it, too.The black car is an Innocenti, just done a reg check.

Autobianchi A112s were based on the Fiat 128. the Innocenti Moini was a rebodied Mini, and was even considered as a direct replacement for it.The black car is an Innocenti, just done a reg check.

They handled reasonably OK. You’re not thinking of the (American) Corvair are you?Funny to think of a Corsair going fast enough to generate anything at all, nevermind lift.
Odd that they coexisted with the Cortina which seemed to do everything that the Corsair did. Perhaps it was perceived to be slightly more upmarket car.
Slightly before my time in terms of understanding Ford's thinking on this.

From what I can remember of them they transcended the Mk 1 and Mk 2 Cortinas and were fitted with V4s, either the 1700 or 2000 in the 2000E Model. They were certainly comfier than the Mk 1 Cortinas and Corsair seats were acquired by many of us Cortina owners at the time, as were the excellent close ratio 2000E gearboxes.Odd that they coexisted with the Cortina which seemed to do everything that the Corsair did. They managed to rust in all the same places as they were pretty much based on the Cortina floorpan, though this meant lots of interchangeable parts, which was important to a teenage me at the time.
