Agree, and given the value of these things, the small extra cost of a pukka set of Minilites (even a pukka set of new made alloy versions) over a set of bad repro's is a small price to pay to put the finishing touch to a lovely car.xtreme ant said:
That’s a friend of mine driving the XK150, he doesn’t own it but has been lent it by the owner for a couple of weeks, and took me for a blast in it to Wales a couple of weeks ago. It is a very nice car and has been local all of it’s life (Stoke-on-Trent)V8s ONLY said:

Sunbeam Lotus!!!
Far right of frame next to the fella kneeling down. I'm sure it is!
There is one in the first image from the set, next to a red Mk1 Escort, so you're probably correct. Look in the top left of the first photo, there's a black modern 4x4 / SUV, then the Sunbeam, then the Escort.Far right of frame next to the fella kneeling down. I'm sure it is!

AEC Matador Built about 2 miles from where I grew up, and also the vehicle my Dad first learnt to drive on when in the Army.

Thought pukka minilites were made in magnesium, would fancy using any that old; company still about though so you can still get genuine minilites alloys, maybe even pukka new if you ask nicely
Err, that's what I wrote, pukka new made alloy ones. They still do make new magnesium ones as well in small batches, but they are a tad expensive The new made in alloy are not that much than a set of 'lookalike' alloys, so I just don't see the point in buying lookalike, when you can the real thing.
I ran a set of 1970's era made magnesium Minilites on my Sunbeam-Lotus through the late 80's and all through the 90's and they were fine after a careful refurb, and they hardly lost any air, so had not gone porous.

Utter pedant mode - that Quattro should onlu have the black ‘Audi’ and ‘quattro’ badges. Not the rings. I always wanted a Tornado Red Quattro, I think it’s their best colour.
If you want rings, you need a 20v version with no script and only rings (though they should be chrome not black)!!

Sorry about the Red Audi lads - No need to get so pedantic over it - after all its only an old tintop - and I'm not into my tintops = to me they're just old shopping trolleys
BUT your point is noted I won't be posting any more pics of old AUDI's herein

Wonder whether the Ford pedants can find any faults with the XR3
