These arrived today grey lettering for the bonnet

the existing ones are like this

so which is right for a 1990 model year Trocadero Red ?
or neither !!
The existing ones look like chrome letters off a much later car. I don't think they are correct for a Classic at all.
I'm sure the parts book has a list of which letter goes with which colour. I'll have a look tonight.

This is what I was thinking of but it might be too new for your car as it’s from 1993.

More part numbers. Again apologies. I think it might be too new for you but a quick google on some of the numbers suggest that some are still available.

Anyone fancy a nice Vanden Plas decal?!

That was for Japanese-market LSEs, a metal badge:

How much should I expect to pay for a RHD 1976 2 door suffix D with a 300TDi engine conversion and MOT?

I know of one likely to come up for sale, but need to manage my expectations.....!

I think much depends on the Fe : Fe2O3 ratio to be honest. Then it boils down to what hard to replace items need replacing.

Hi all

I am usually contributing to the barge thread as I own a P38 - I am looking to move on to something else after 4 decent years with it. Could I share details here to gain opinions on what I should offer it for? Prices are all over the place and I assume many of you will have been around one or owned one at some point. There are no P38 threads really to use instead!

Thanks

Josh

Fair comment!

Looks tidy enough tbh.

Price could be £8k (its a white Suffix D), just missing a few bits of trim. Not a fan of the 300TDi - he does have the original V8, not sure if its usable.

If I wanted to put a V8 back in, how much would I expect to pay for a useable unit and then fitting?

Post away Josh. You'll probably get some sensible advice.

To answer my own engine swap question - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RANGE-ROVER-P38-4-0-4-6... - £1600

Again it does all depend how you want to do it. You can slap in a V8 but you might find that there is a lot of fettling with the drive train from the bell housing back to get it back to how it was. It's a difficult question to genuinely answer until the diesel unit is out and you can see how that was done and what's then needed to undo it. If you want originality or opt for a later drive train etc.

Chemical Symbols:

Fe - iron
Fe2O3 - iron oxide!

(Technically the numbers should be subscript but PH doesn't have that formatting)
