I'm surprised that all you fella's on here who are 'dis-enchanted' with the 'classic' car scene in the UK are not 'casting your nets' further afield for your cars. Yes, the prices are over inflated in the UK for supposedly desirable cars - why pay the prices - are they 'really' selling? - just leave them alone and let bottom fall out of market. Why not look over in the 'States and perhaps Europe for some of the more unusual and offbeat cars which don't have exotic name tags while they are still affordable.

Such as?
Such as anything 'non' mainstream - you name it!Not saying that any of these are are genuine cars or anyones tastes - just that there are 'alternatives' out there!

I like driving ; and when I see 25 year old F40s with 5k miles I could weep. Few P1s and Veyrons will ever be driven hard or often. The sad fact is that the more a car is worth the less it will be driven although I will make a massively honourable exception for the VSCC whose members seem to delight in thrashing the arse off T35s etc .
Ultimately we end up with the grotesque Pebble Beach parody with sleb judges passing judgement on oligarch's Ferraris , few of which are ever given a good thraping .
So buy cheaper cars and enjoy - I am not on the market but if I got rid of the current toy I'd be looking at Elans , Europas, TVRs, Nissan 350Zs and most late 60s Alfas which are still reasonable - and lovely to drive. Sadly the Porsche boat has already sailed..

They were a tad dull ?? lol
As per all of your Ferarri's, Aston's, Jaguars etc etc - but for totally different reasons. The former may be a 'tad dull' due to the fact that that are all relatively routine production line stuff without the 'required' image that so many will hanker for and seen as too 'lowly' for many. The latter become a 'tad dull' for the reasons of the people who end up owning them when they significantly escalate in value and become categorised as 'mobile investments' and get out of the hands of the true petrol-head enthusiast.
