You are all still about a million miles off, except for one of you, who is only half a million miles off.
Ok, I think only one person has mentioned Jaag. I think this is the avenue to explore, gentlemen...

ETA: Especially given BV's 'previous' hehe

I currently have, ahem, two Jags*. As with Sith, so with Jags (except that Jags are arguably more evil and terrifying than Sith). You apply the Rule of Two. "Always two there are: a Master, and an Apprentice". So: no more Jags. Daimlers count as Jags for this purpose.

* You may claim your five pounds in the usual manner.

Well, we could be talking MG of course, but then again was the Gypsy also made during the BL tenure? Then we must think of Wolseley, Riley et al. These last ones might cost four Snickers though.

What was I thinking, 2600 SD1, duh...!

Six wheeled Range Rover fire tender with an Overfinch conversion and knee deep Wood & Pickett shagpile rugs...?

I give up...

Early in this thread he was professing a degree of Midget love that defied decency. But the Midget isn't a 70s car that made it to the 80s, it's a 50s car that made it to the 80s.

You got me! I laughed audibly at that line. Cheers.

When I professed Midget love I hope that didn't make you think of too many specialist entertainment websites.

First of all, it's not called a bloody Roller, it's called a bloody Royce. Now, get in, and drive. (To be read in a Michael Caine voice)

Secondly, RR has never knowingly been part of BL, AFAIK.

Sod it. I think this is the time and the forum to wheel out my RR story.

Back in the late 80s a mate of mine (the same one who went rallying in a Granada estate, if you've been paying attention) had the use of a Silver Shadow. among other antics, after dropping off the Americans he was "chauffering" around, he was driving back from Shaftesbury to Salisbury, He ended up in a mild dice with a Lancia Beta and ended up overtaking it. If you know the road you'll understand the young bloke heroism of this and accept that Good Form was observed.

There, said it.

Given that a well sorted Lancia Beta would see off a lot of fairly sportif opposition on a twisty bit of road, overtaking a Beta in a RR on a twisty road takes a lot of manly man parts. Big up nuff respek'.

I feel the need for wedge in my life, and also for pop up headlamps, but a TR7 it is not. The wedge and pop ups niche will in due course be filled by yet another fked Lotus, or maybe even a fked TVR Tasmin, but not just at this time.

Wild guess.

A parsimonious budget suggests an early Range Rover is out of the question, maybe a series Land Rover of some sort?
Had two already, first one was dire, but stupidly sold a really good one last year. Not yet looking for another. Next?

Range Rover Classic : been there, done that - bought a 1990 one for 500 quid. Ran it one year. Failed MoT on welding (previous MoT was probably dodgy as a dodgy thing - even a Rangey can't rust THAT much in a year). Sold it for 500 quid.

Given BV's eclectic tastes I suspect the LDV guess might be the nearest...so I'm thinking something really left field like a Sherpa motor home conversion, or even a J4 (shudder)!

Both of these staggered into the '80s, just.

Or maybe a Marina Sun Tor conversion.

If it's any of these, you need to get your head straight, sir!!

No, you need to think of Benedict Cumberbatch's mum.

Following a recap of the thread, I have spent most of this evening gazing at this.

So, back on track...

Here's an Allegro that I could get behind (if only in order to push). NB: this is also A CLUE.
