You'd think that wheel would be worth something.

I initially thought a Celica but now I'm going with an Rx7.

Anyway, can we get back to old French cars which aren't 'Classics'?

Door shape / mirror etc would support that

Yes, it's an RX-7 and it was the ivy along the dashboard that compelled me to take the picture.

RX7.

I saw a red RX7 with the same rear wing rive past me in Rotherham about 5 years ago. Wonder if its the same one? This one looks like its being broken for spare parts since it looks like another RX7 parked in front of it that looks in good condition.

Grrrrrr. You're right. Either there's some badge bodge going on or I need to check my nerd stats...

Edit: checked Wiki. The 2.2 220 came with the facelift and was badged E220, even on the coupe. Yet checked google images and there are plenty of pre facelift coupe's with the 2.2 engine badged 220 CE's.... I'm confused.com.

Mid face lift - fell between the early and later cars - half and half. Potentially the more coveted models.

Spotted this old late 70s Land Rover Pick Up that's loosing the battle against the foliage whilst walking the dog near Gotham (South Nottingham). Next to it is an early Discovery and an old horse drawn trap. As one may/not be a classic and the other is not a car, I haven't posted that picture. It was me that posted the BX GTI pic and I don't to start another ruckus...

For those interested the owner of the BX is getting it back on the road...

Yup that qualifies no problem, unlike the 80's French car.......... Which should be consigned to scrap :-)

Not rotting but resting. Deep in rural Berkshire last evening I delivered a Ford Focus to a customer - a really lovely chap - who had this lurking at the back of his stables. He didn't say he'd had it from new but told a story about trying the newly opened M4 and falling in with another TR2 by coincidence and the pair of them racing west at 100mph. The M4 opened a long time ago, so he has owned it a long time. The roll cage is for stiffness rather than competition but problems with it interfering with the hood rarely occurred as he tended not to use it; one year he didn't use the hood at all. Twelve months with no weather protection - blimey! His party trick was to roll a cigarette at traffic lights and light it as the traffic started to move by scraping a Swan Vesta match along the road. Stylish.

He told me his plan now is to restore it. If I wrote for the TR Register that would be a story I would love to write.

Wonder when it went from being a cherished car to becoming a "shelf".
