Classics left to die/rotting pics - Vol 2
Discussion
sorry I do not know how to post pictures. anyway:

I pass here a lot- the house is extremely elevated from the road, the driveway near vertical and yet this chap seems to collect and never dispose of cars. He seems to have died now- looks like stuff (except cars) being cleared.
there is a dead- freelander, 80's granada LX, a ford probe, ford puma. at the top of the drive a foldup trailer tent thing and finally an orange 70's beetle that is so rotten, everything has rotted off it. wings, running boards, all fallen off. I'm not even sure how most of this can be removed, access is terrible- probably the trailer and beetle need chopping up and then a recovery truck/tractor place up the drive to winch stuff down. all onto a busy, tight main road.
always though, what a stupid house to buy if you are going to collect your cars. doubt anything is worth saving, they've been exposed for decades, parked on severe slopes, covered in decades of garden junk

Looks like someone managed to rescue the black 944 that stuck out over the pavement in Grays from the loon who lives here a few months ago, but it was instantly replaced by this Fiesta lol. The red S2 2+2 E Type, MK1 Cortina and bubble arched Escort are still rotting. The garage door has been open for as long as I can remember, no idea what is rotting in there though.
Baghdad, Iraq.
I quite like the original 'Made in Brazil' sticker on the rear window. In the local dialect, a 'Brazilian' came to mean this specific model.
Cadillac of some model I've not checked undergoing restoration.
NB: there is a misplaced urban myth that the Chevrolet Malibu was intended to be an Iraqi-spec taxi. It was not (there's a clip online about a chunk of the order that remained stuck in Canada).
In actual fact, in the 1980s and 1990s the VW Passat, Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, Chevrolet Celebrity and Chevrolet Malibu were handed out as gratuities to military/security personnel / their families (amongst other gratuities like houses, land to self-build etc) depending on various factors such as rank. Understandably these are now collectible in that country and I did see a fair few being used as daily runners.
