This Rochdale had a whole little history. Belonged to the Rochdale Owners Club secretary.

Rover P5?
Yes, 3 litre Saloon and what is that white car, top left? a old Jag?
This is in Italy? An old Rover like this is a surprise. Didn't think many made it out of the UK.

"This Olympic left the UK for Germany in 2009, it was for sale on e-bay in 2012 and I think went to Thailand in 2013. The compound belongs to the https://www.jesadatechnikmuseum.com/en/ nr Bangkok and this is where they keep items before they are restored and displayed in the museum.h

This Olympic has an interesting history. The first owner Dick Cawthorne collected the bodyshell from Rochdale on a trailer behind a Renault Dauphine and with him in the Dauphine as 2nd driver was Denis Sargent Jenkinson, "Jenks" or "DSJ" as he was known in the pages of Motor Sport.
As Continental Correspondent of the UK-based Motor Sport magazine, he covered F1 and other races all over Europe. He gained fame as the navigator for Stirling Moss in their record-breaking Mercedes 300SLR in the 1955 Mille Miglia cross-country race.
When Motor Sport had the Rochdale Olympic demonstrater VDK 147 for a week in June 1961, DSJ drove a lot of miles in VDK 147 and DSJ coined the phrase ” The Rochdale Olympic is the poor man's Porsche". At this time DSJ had a Porsche 356 as his company car."
Crikey. I don't think its going to get restored though.
Almost certainly the same car as discussed in this Motor Sport article

The car was 90 FHO before becoming JFO 673

The Riley also left the UK in 2004.
These cars can't have been that bad when they were exported not that long ago.
It was a waste that those Nova kit cars were designed to use asthmatic old Beetle engineshttps://fishki.net/2991407-kladbiwe-retro-avtomobi...

I agree. They looked fantastic and futuristic at the time.. Couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding though.GTRene said:
