I didn’t know there were any outside of captivity smile
I "dread" to think how long that's been there...
About six years, if I've pieced together the stuff on the internet about it correctly. The vehicle was last sold circa 2016 by the Huddersfield Land Rover Centre:

https://www.landrovercentre.com/product/npk63p/

The advert isn't dated, but the dealers also put an entry on Pinterest (of all things) about it being for sale in late 2015.

Since then, various Reddit threads on the subject describe the vehicle as being parked in the garden of a 'strange house' in the evocatively named Mauldeth Road in Greater Manchester:

https://www.reddit.com/r/manchester/comments/9y984...

The latest thing on Reddit is dated 2023, implying that the CityCab is still there. The video posted here shows it in the same location. The owner of the Mauldeth Road house is described somewhere as a 'Judge Dredd Fanatic'.

I've seen one of those things in real life, too - it made an appearance at a fun day in Essex at some point in the nineties. I assume the purpose was to promote the film, but I can't really remember.

Interesting. On the plus side, as a simple rebody of a 101FC, presumably there’s no impediment to road use?

For those with an interest, this link is interesting http://www.bubblemania.fr/en/truck-sci-fi-camion-b... and contains an earlier photo of the same beast with something else I don’t recognise alongside it!

I suspect the visibility is nil, so you'll be collecting small children, dogs and cyclists like cuddly toys on the front of a bin motor.

Aha. The vehicle on the left is referred to in one of the Reddit discussions without being pictured. Apparently it's a Saracen armoured car that was modified for the same Judge Dredd film as the CityCar - a natural companion, if you like. Apparently the Saracen disappeared some time ago.

There was one of these sitting around in Dingwall in the North of Scotland about 10 15 years ago.

I remember a red one at Le Mans one year, too - had a water cannon on top I think.

Did that one not disappear within the last five years?

I remember that! Mad Friday evening on the Mulsanne! I just managed to duck behind a camper van in time, there wasn't much cover available, and they were soaking everybody within range.

Out of action since February 2023.

A cylinder head, for example.

Lack of money and enthusiasm.

Some time back I posted some pics of a couple of Peugeot 205's that were left to rot.

They are now for sale.

I valued some of that site (Colne?) around 6-7 years ago and remember them left rotting then.

Given that loads of bits had been cut out as repair sections for other cars I doubt there’s any chance of restoration.

It is indeed Colne. The last time I drove past there were three of them there - I wonder if the 'missing' one is much worse than the others?
