It's not a restoration though is it, rather it'll be a recreation using some old components.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if lots of "historically significant" classics were resurrected with not much more.

This is where the value is:

Chassis number: 915029 & 915422
Gearbox number: 945272 22X39
Axle Number: 14-61 27.7.1949
Engine Number: S926230
I wonder if cars with chassis numbers 915029 and 915422 already exist and in someones private collection somewhere.... It wouldnt surprise me...

Is this a classic yet?

Seeing as it's not covered in F1 wings and un-removable Fast n Furious junk it surely qualifies. I quite liked these before the nobbers got hold of them, rare to see one relatively unscathed.

...and it will have to be IVA'd to end up on a new non-Alfa logbook and a Q-plate..

'Resto' must be a new word for eBay then !

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUPER-RARE-MK1-JENSEN-IN...

Probably the worst written listing I've ever tried to read

Most of the 'parts' listed as OK are clearly not !

What a crock of ste - it is literally worth next to nothing - and the offers he's had - tsk.

This pic shows the extent ...

One of the most appallingly written ads ever. Verging on the illiterate!!

One for a masochist that project

Granted but I expect that rear screen in the foreground is worth a fair bit alone?

It's a breaker, and the 13SDV plate has a value if you can get the V5 sharpish.

£500 the lot sounds fair.

Is it not the case that you can only transfer a reg number from a car with a valid MoT cert?

Because I don't think this car has one

No, no, you must be mistaken. According to the advert the roof and chassis are good.

Bids are rising so there must be hard to get parts amongst that pile of ferrous oxide.
I can't work out how the car went from being uncovered to the heap of mangled metal !
Did they try and drag it out and found the paint was holding it together ?

Looks like they removed the screen and the A pillars just folded up. So they let the roof sag and then they placed the screen back on it.

It has a few £££ of parts on it of course but still, what a waste.

That private plate doesn't come with it anyway - so the ad says says, if you can decipher what the illiterate ape means.

In that case, maybe this is a viable restoration; http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/07/11/land-ro...

I'm following this at the moment http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?13514-WW1...
Just compare the initial photos on the first page with it's current state http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?13514-WW1...
