It does look like a Quattro or Coupe. The wheels look like they might be the earlier 6" Ronals. They're definitely not the 8' wheels the post '84 cars had. The front wheels look like they have massive negative camber, as if the engine is out. The front overhang looks too short (the front wheels are quite a way back on these cars) which would suggest that the whole front of the car is off, which could be the case if the engine is out. Pretty sure the front subframe would be adrift in that circumstance which would also explain the wacky wheel angles.

My eyes hurt from peering so hard at the pixels.
Is it not some kind of Beemer?
I'd go for Quattro as well. Am wondering what's in the garage scratchchin

Definitely old money around those parts. What a house in the background!

The red XJS and Spitfire aren't exactly abandoned either as they're regular seen driving around. The guy who owns both also has the 944 faded to light pink and covered in moss at the bottom. The Spitfire has a nice "My other car's a Porsche" sticker on it too.
I often wonder if this thread and the "Autoste" forum are living some kind of Gerry Anderson Doppelganger existence; posting pictures up here of their meat and veg transport!

Closer examination of that image suggests some front end damage, as the bonnet looks to be a little bowed on top - unless it's just a trick of the light.

Have we seen that 400i on these pages before? Looks familiar.

Also, presume the faded to pink 944 at the bottom isn't the 944 in front of the red XJ-S, which in fact looks like a very much un-faded Guards Red.

Great pics. Love 'em.
I think the Audi is just a coupe. Hard to see as lots of it is missing and the photo is from at least a year ago. I wonder if it had been wheeled out of the garage shortly before.

The faded 944 is the same one as the guards red one - the front end is faded/peeled to a light pink (plus they're instagram pics so there's filters involved but I was never taking them to post on here...)

I have a long history with that Ferrari 400. I had a ride in it as a kid when it was for sale (for 55 grand in 1991) at a classic car place nr Stamford. 120mph on the B roads near Peakirk in that left quite an impression.
I posted some enquiries on Ferrari sites and on here to see if anyone knew of it's whereabouts. Someone did reply and said it was in storage as part of a collection.
Then it popped up on here in this thread. I did some sleuthing, some Google street view spying and worked out where it was and it was en route to somewhere else so I stopped in. The Audi behind it is rotting into the ground too. The Ferrari looks like the chassis has given way in the middle - hard to see on the pic. The owner put it on EBay a few years back for 15K and it was in *such* a state. The interior is pretty much liquid and there's rot all over it. Soon it'll be a case of him having to pay someone to take it away. I still want it though...

That Ferrari will presumably be way beyond saving then. I dont know what a 400 is worth now though

Shame, I always had a thing for the 400 series and thought I'd have one at some point
Me too. Love them. Love *this* one especially. But the problem with a V12 Ferrari is a restoration costs the same whether it's a 400 or a Daytona.

It's amazing - it's a GP Practice. If you live in Nottingham you might be familiar. The 900 Turbos are funny - one clearly broke down and has been left to rot (the interior is pretty much all green mould) and the owner just bought an identical replacement!

I imagine it's worth that for whatever spares could be salvaged.

I don't know but that sounds very cheap, wheels and roof probably worth that.

And you haven't bought it? eek

That's £1500+ all day long, even in that state. The world is full of dreamers who want to save old st like that.

Yes, the Ferrari is a re-post - Hasn't been taxed since January 1st 2001
Yes that is the same 400 I posted on here a couple of years or so ago. It is near Newcastle under Lyme. Looks like my photo too!

Anyway, it is still there, not moved and still rusting away. Such a shame.

In the 80s I always waned a 400i. Sleek shape and love the, then futuristic, ski slope centre console. Sadly, in that condition its only worth parts.

I think it was your photo (and some messages via ferrarichat) that led me to find it. It's in a bit worse state than in your pic though...

I will try and get another photo over the next few days to show it's current state. I know that it is still there and hasn't moved.

I think I took that one around June or July this year. It's properly f*cked.

There's one coming up for auction in a few hours, so it's not too late smile
