H511OOK full check comes up as a Carlton GSI 24V A 4 Speed Auto. Its recorded as a Total Loss on the 20/04/1995 and as a Cat C on 16/06/1999. It has had 3 colour changes the last being 17/01/2009. Has 12 former keepers - last change in 2009 - engine number recorded as 01000435.
Certainly has some history

Ugh, there are even old fag-ends in the ashtray. That's no way to treat a car like that
The crap growing all over the wheel and gear knob would bother me more. Most cars from the 1980s/1990s will probably have had loads of people smoke in them over the yearsCould it be a real Lotus wearing the identity of a dodgy Carlton GSi?

What do you think it’s worth? Say as a non runner with a broken engine? Worst case scenario. I’ve posted a note through seeing if he’ll sell it.
Apparently the owner has only been seen a handful of times in the past couple of years
Quite a few absent property owners buy old cars and leave them on the front drive to make the place look inhabited. There are a few of those near my office in Ealing.Apparently the owner has only been seen a handful of times in the past couple of years

Anyway, steering wheel too prosaic for a GT6. It's from something like this Wolseley 6....
Also front suspension isn't right for Triumph GT6 (or Vitesse), they had tubular shock absorbers and dual wishbones.
Spotted today. Apparently this is part of the large collection sold to Jaguar / Tata last year. The 'better' cars were stored in various barns but I don't think it was appropriate to take pics. I saw well over 100 cars ranging from a mint Metro automatic to an Aston Lagonda.
