The Escort ^^^^ is a bit of a mismatch, bits of it are MK3 and some MK4.

C plate makes it a MK3 but bumper and rear lights are MK4......nerd
I used to own a 'C' plate Yellow 1.3 popular Mk4. It was a 2 door, 4 speed. Quite a pain in getting bits, as some were Mk3. I used to have the chassis number written down on a bit of paper in my wallet.

Where is that Turbo 2 hiding? Such a shame, it needs to be restored especially as they are worth £35k + running these days.

Just spotted the Series 1 next to the silver Daimler in the fourth pic down, I wonder what the rest of it is like...

The tube lying next to the R5T2 could well be the fibre-glass crash protection tube that fits longitudinally under the spare wheel in the front. Either that or it is a replacement tube which is intended to repair a heavy front-on shunt, but has never been completed. Having owned one for 14 years I know how bad the brakes are for a quick car, which means a front-end accident is quite likely. The car looks salvageable to me.

The R5T2 is an old internet photo.

It was on a French website in 2006, so it could have been crashed any time before that!

Here's a better quality copy of it.

Looks like the more recent pics of that Jag graveyard aren't looking positive (not like they were positive before anyway!).

Looking unloved. I'm sure they will get round to restoring it. Am I right in thinking the E-type has always been a notoriously expensive car to restore. I once read the cost of a full resto could reach £100k. I wonder why that is though.

Is that not because it's MOT exempt?

No, DVLA says it's a 1963 car, so not MOT exempt yet. I suspect it's just an old photo.

The only MOT on record on the web site is from September 2017, failed on the brakes binding, then passed a few days later.

Don't think I have seen an E Type with a spot/fog lamp in the grill before.

Wasn't that E-Type found in a garden and then sold at auction about five years ago?

Fetched a tidy sum from memory (even though the actual figure escapes me) ... edit: a quick google suggest £58,000. And it was March 2016.

The blue one has had some previous resto work, Sills, Front X member, Sidelight housings etc, Grey one has an S-Type front grill.

Thanks for the information. The only one with a visible registration was the grey one. It has been off the road since November 1991, after being registered (imported perhaps) just 6 months previous..

That AEC "Militant" is more likely a military Matador Gun Tractor because it looks as if it has an observation hatch for the passenger Typically used for towing 3.7" AA guns, Radar sets and 5.5" Medium guns) Still in use with BAOR up to the early 60's. Fantastic 4wd & a very strong winch, when sold off may went as loggers, and that looks as if it is the right environment.
