Classics left to die/rotting pics - Vol 2
Discussion
A few days ago I spotted a marron and very haggered looking classic on a drive in the Whiston area in Merseyside. Dont know what make it was exactly, but probably either a Triumph or Rover, though I didn't see any Rover badge on the front. It had lettering "TC" on the grill, so could've been a 2500 TC. The paint was flaking off, no doubt with lots of rust too. Looked in a pretty bad way, body wise. Hope the owner decides to restore it rather than just leave it sitting there.

Sounds like a Rover 2000TC or 2200TC, if the TC badge is on the grille it's most likely a 'facelift' Series 2 from late 1970 onwards, the Series 1 cars had the badge on the bonnet...WOW what a thread. Such a shame so many great cars left to rot either because;
"no mate it's a GTE / V6 / carb model / got a black stripe on it / etc, they're really rare, I'm not selling it"
"I'm going to do it up soon"
"Owner is in prison/ ill / abroad and I'm just storing it for him"
"It's worth 20 billion pounds if mint with FSH, so I'm not letting this rust bucket go for less than 19 billion"
"I bought it when they were at peak price, so can't sell it, I'll lose too much money"
" I'm just a stubborn prick who can't see the woods, those trees are in the way "
" It's suffered a expensive failure and simply isn't worth putting the time / money too "
One thing is for sure, I bet there is A LOT of pissed of wives behind these cars "when are you going to move that bloody car "

Have we had this one? Apologies if we have.
Still sat on the drive in North Wales apparently. Imagine how many times he has got up halfway through countdown to be hassled to sell...
Bloody lovely those Rover 800 Limo's.
Bl**dy hell, surely he's got an inkling of its worth, why isn't it in a garage!Still sat on the drive in North Wales apparently. Imagine how many times he has got up halfway through countdown to be hassled to sell...

Though as noted makes you wonder what's in there!
Is this recently?
This thread is fascinating, I so rarely see anything of note and I do a fair few miles. The most note worthy is a Corrado near me and a Pug 1.6 GTI that was going green outside a house 'til last year, moved on now, probably after they noticed some weirdo stopping, staring and taking the odd pic of it!

Chest freezer, unused bikes, a kite, a work bench that doesn't see any work, a box of misplaced dreams and a jar of mixed sorrow.
Pure poetry. We ought to do a "Let's see your workbench" type thread. No matter how tidy I try to keep mine, I end up working on a bit 12" square. But I suppose I do at least work at it.Yertis said:

My workbench is about 7 ft wide but because my garage car is 5.5 feet wide and nestled bum first against it, I'm not left with much space either. A bit like getting slowly edged off the sofa by a dog.Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
