I've posted a picture of this forlorn Ferrari a couple of years ago but it is still there gently rusting away.
It has not moved from this driveway for at least 15 years or so. I'd imagine it is almost worthless now

For restoration, the story behind this car is I lost the keys 3 years after a nut and bolt restoration (i need my arse kicking for this) and never got around to doing anything about it
well, thats a new one !Escort3500 said:
I suspect the “nut and bolt” restoration is somewhat fictional.
No, it's genuine - The owner restored a nut, and a bolt for the car, decided it was too much hard work , and so left the rest of the car to just rot away! As of today (1/12/18): 2 bids, taking the price to £8100, and the reserve is not met.
Either there are two delusional idiots bidding on the car thinking they can make money out of it, two of the owner's mates are shill bidding on the car to try and generate interest, or two people are just messing the owner around!
The car's just too far gone to be a worthwhile restoration project.
There's a nice condition, road worthy 400i auto for sale on ebay right now for £34,995, which isn't selling (It's in red, which never seems to suit the 365 GT4 2+2/400/400i/412 series - They always look better in blue, black, or silver for some reason).
To restore the rust bucket 400i, you'd need to put at least: £30K into the body work, £30K into the mechanicals, £10K into sorting out the electrics, £10K to sort out the interior, and I suspect, £10K~£20K on the chassis. Basically, to restore the car properly, you've got to be looking at spending at least £100K - on a car realistically worth @ £35K ~ £50K!
As a parts car, it's so far gone, I'd be amazed if there's £4K still in it - Which again makes the "Reserve not met" at £8100 crazy.
If someone is genuinely offering £8100 for this car, the owner should grab it with both hands instantly, and run all the way to the bank laughing their heads off!
As I say, either two delusional idiots are bidding on this car, or there's some shill bidding going on!

You probably have more experience than me at restoring cars but how could it need ten thousand quid spending on electrics. Wires and fuses on a car that can't be that complicated electronically. Also the seats look pretty damn good. I dont see why it would need ten thousand quid on the interior. Even if you totally stripped it out, replaced carpets for new custom made, custom made headlining and door cards. It wouldn't cost anywhere near that. As of today (1/12/18): 2 bids, taking the price to £8100, and the reserve is not met.

I'm not saying its not a basket case. I actually agree with your 30k on the bodywork. But i think you're over estimating some of those figures.
I have never owned a ferrari though, never mind restored one.

Says ‘Free’ on the boot !
That being the case I propose the following.1 - ph member to knock om the door and ask for the car
2 - ph member to transport it to my house
3 - ph member(s) to help me spanner it
All above member have access to track it on prearranged days in the year. (Part ownership model)
Let's do it.
