Looks like Misano red - could be one of the Motorsport editions our even an M635CSi.
Bloody shame.
could be, late model bumper and no chrome trims suggests it might be..... what a shame to leave it like thatBloody shame.
I'm pretty sure a previous owner has sprayed the bumper insert red to increase the colour-coding of the car - it should be black.
Highline cars (post mid-1987 onwards) share exactly the same wheel arch extensions, front air dam and rear boot spoiler between the M635CSi and the 635CSi unlike the pre-Highline cars where the 635CSi and M635CSi have different front air dams.
On any E24 car the easy way to check for an M635CSi is the rev-counter; all other E24's (including Alpina cars) have the econometer in the bottom the rev-counter, the M635CSi has no econometer but a simple, small '///M' logo.
I linked to a similar Merc many pages back
Here's the Google Streetview
And here's a pic of said car, which as far as I know is still there.

My former father in law used to have the exact same model Granada 2.0 (he lived in one of the most humid cities in South Africa)
His one rusted just like that, but every two years or so, he would get it "repaired" - but I think it was 50% filler and 50% steel by the time he scrapped it.
I shudder to think what might have happened should he ever have been in a serious accident in it, I suspect the car would have disintegrated around him!
It had the most woeful performance from that 2.0 engine too!!

Worth saving as they're a better steer than a Jag Mk1 and they only made 800; whereabouts is it?Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
