The number of old Reliants, Yugos, etc. I've seen on the top of the converted shipping container "office" that fronts a breaker's yard, as their main sign, is ridiculous!
Also a good pointer to the sort of place that is likely to let you up the back to look round, and not just produce an alternator off a shelf.

For years there was a Reliant Scimiter shell balanced on top of a container in a scrapper in Stratford, E London - bit of a landmark heading in & out of town; long gone now with the redevelopment.

Very common practice; there's a scrappy at Gipsy Hill with a Riley Elf on top of a container and just round the corner at the next scrappy by Loughborough Junction is a Rover P6. Makes me sad every time I go past on the train

Until fairly recently there was a RR Silver Shadow perched an top of a container at a scrappy in Landor Street, Birmingham, just behind the Freightliner terminal, the shell looked as though it had been burned out but it had new shiny bumpers fitted front and rear!

Does anyone else remember the (pre-war) Morris Minor that was on a pole at a scrap yard by the A2 coming out of London (can't remember exactly where but used to see it when driving to Dover to get a ferry to France)?

1985 525 been doing since 2000, the last time it was taxed. What a shame.

I spotted this in Cefn Mawr near Wrexham . . . I'm not sure what it is . . . a Lancia ?

The red 146 next to it seems to have a full cage! What's the story there - real track toy or boy racer with a PVC drainpipe fake?
I had a red 146 in the BRSCC Alfa Championship back in the 2000s - Don't think it's mine though, mine ended up with some very distinctive dents on the roof.

RHD example for sale here, it's been for sale for a while now, not mint but very nice.... a while ago it was advertised elsewhere and was silver then so it's obviously had a respray at some point....

Yes, and this one that looks similar to the green one in the photo seems to have sold for £9,995 last year.

I wonder if the owner of the green one knows it's potentially worth £10K! eek

The 525e is very rare - a 2.7, not the 2.5 of the regular 525i. Auto only and geared to something like 35 mph/1000 in top. 20 years before "Efficient Dynamics" became a thing!

Let's hope that that one and the green one get back on the road at some point... wink

This looks like one of those new autonomous cars where you sit around a table talking to your friends while the car does the driving. I assume this one arrived and parked neatly at the restaurant a few minutes before I arrived....

I remember that. LB Spares, but thought that it was on the A20 somewher near Ruxley roundabout, if that still exists.

You could well be right about it being by the A20. It was donkey's years ago.

Yes, was on the (old) A20 definitely.
