The Z28 flavour of these is now making serious money in good nick. I don't know what the difference is between the Z and the cooking version, nor which one that is in the pic.Thats a 74, the only year with those tail lights & the small rear window, I forgot the big rear window started in 75, not 77 as I originally put down.

It was initially called the Alfa Romeo Alfasud Sprint, but with the 1983 facelift that brought the big plastic bumpers, it was shortened to Alfa Romeo Sprint. I think your spot is the quite rate 1.3 with the grey stripes in the bumper. The 1.5 had red and the range topping Cloverleaf had green. I had a summer job at our local Alfa dealer when I was about 15 and used to wash and polish these all summer. They were quite exotic given how inexpensive they were - inboard disks, rasping flat 4, rev counter, extra instruments - what's not to like? By the time I was old enough to make the decision however, I opted for the more reliable and less rusty option of a Golf GTI.
