Being silver it could be a Mini 40 limited edition, most were dark red, white or blue but I'm sure a small number were sold in silver.rallycross said:
that looks quite sound to my eyes - sills looks good, bonnet edge where they usually go looks fine, only real damage seems to be windscreen pillar - they are cracking cars, lovely engine, great handling, discs all round - miles ahead of the equivalent Fords of the period Edited by anonymous-user on Monday 7th February 13:12

Let’s hope so as any Beta is a great car.
yes I had a few HPE and Coupe's back in the day, best one was a vx coupe in dark silver with grey recarro seats.Unfortunately I never owned a Beta as when I fancied one in 90/91 the decent mid 80’s Coupes were out of my price range.
If only they did a modern one.

A mate of mine had one of the early small bumper Coupes - only a 1300 and it looked like it had been parked in a saltwater bath for a decade but by god it was cool - made a good noise too but the icing on the proverbial was the dial-tastic dash. Fantastic!
There was a lovely silver 1300 coupe in Italy on C&C for £5K just before we hit Brexit - I desperately tried to find someone to help import it but hit a wall of silence and gave up - bad timing I guess. Shame as I love them - late 90's I had a 1981 2.0 pre-facelift coupe in 'bathroom blue' as my Dad used to call it which ended its days as a chicken shed in Kent after I sold it. Criminal...

A few pages back we were discussing old 1960s coaches left to rot, and I suggested that they would make great conversions to race car transporters, as used in period. Well b*gger me, someone's gone and done it.
In the current issue of Classic & Sportscar there's one reviewed for sale - a 1949 Foden by Plaxton. It'll take a good sized car- in the photo that's a Corvette. It's been fitted with a modern Cummins turbo-diesel, modern gearbox and power steering, so it won't hold up traffic like they did back in the day. Big drawback - it's £120k!!!
