2.8i judging by the rubber spoiler; I think the later Ghias and Ghia Xs had fog lights mounted there as std?
Hopefully it isn't an Injection - they had the metric wheels that only Michelin supplied/supply for silly money! Those lights look like Lucas after-market ones to me. I seem to remember later MK2 Granadas having round spot-lights on the top of the bumper - like XR3s, etc.

This is the sort of thing I had in mind:

I remember driving a new 2.8 injection which had the driving lights (round, above bumper) and fog lights (rectangular, below bumper) and with the rubber 'spoiler', exactly as in the car advertised above. No idea, now, what size tyres it was fitted with. I've always thought that they, especially the later and higher-spec models, were under-rated cars.

OK, bit more Sherlock Holmesing and I offer this to the class.....
You can see the dark grey on the drivers door through the tear in the cover, and the silver on the rear valance. I reckon it's a 2 tone Ghia X with the original rather smart rectangular foglights replaced with some cheapo ones sometime during its life. The "S" had white alloys didn't it?
I reckon it's close to the Ford retirement home in the sky if not already there....
No more pics I'm afraid - it's on a dodgy council estate in South London and I don't want to be collared taking pics of a strangers car!!

It had the 14" wheels thankfully, unlike a work colleague's 2.8i with the metric wheels.
But he didn't seem to be too bothered about costs as he replaced it with a Jensen Interceptor SP!
Although it did mean he had to commute in a Renault 8, or possibly 10.

That brings back memories, my dad had a 1982 (NUY600Y) one in the same two tone colours as that, ended up with the rare at the time X-pack kit on colour coded to the silver which was deeper front spoiler and arch/cill extensions. Even had the same sunroof deflector as that one in the image. I think he had it from 3 years old, took us up and down the M5 to Cornwall dozens of time with touring caravan in tow. A customer of his pestered him to sell it for many years, so it remained local to us for decades. It eventually succumbed to tin worm that wasn't economical to repair.'UY' registrations are local to us, Evesham - as a coincidence my current garage queen also has that 'UY' in the reg.
Brings back memories for me too!
In 1981 I was working for an insurance company and bought a stolen/recovered Strato Silver 1978 2.8 Ghia from my employer for £1,800 - BNM 250T.
Lovely refined car by the standards of the time, but as a replacement for a Rover P6B 3500S when I was in my early 20s it just felt a bit sluggish so after 18 months I sold it for £2,400 and bought a 1977 MK2 RS2000!

Great decision, I owned 5 of those through the 80-tish and nine-tish, loved them.Lovely refined car by the standards of the time, but as a replacement for a Rover P6B 3500S when I was in my early 20s it just felt a bit sluggish so after 18 months I sold it for £2,400 and bought a 1977 MK2 RS2000!

A sorry looking MR2. In the window is an ad for the entire house. Made me sad wondering how a property like this can just stagnate into a desperate sale with the lawn unkempt.
Asides, just read the window sign (what is visible) and seen the reason I think.
it says;
For Sale by Auction
This property will come to market as soon as all plans and building regs are approved.
This could be as early as Spring 2022 or as late as 2059 and will depend on ...objections are made and planning...

A few in Ajman, UAE today. Apologies for a lengthy post and any duplicate photographs
Particularly sad sight was the Lincoln Town Car 'Cartier' edition. Very 'Clinton's America' and 'height of 90s showbiz and fashion'.
Why are all of these vehicles generally abandoned out there? Is it a case of strict Road rules and they don’t comply anymore or other reasons?Particularly sad sight was the Lincoln Town Car 'Cartier' edition. Very 'Clinton's America' and 'height of 90s showbiz and fashion'.
I'm not entirely sure as I've not been here very long, but based on my own observations (and other people's information), it's a hub for exporting, importing (and re-exporting) both new and old vehicles in RHD and LHD.
There does seem to be a market and passion for all vehicles of all ages but classic cars are taken a lot more seriously. They are in abundance and it's possible to pick something classic for only a few grand. I'd be a little bit doubtful if it is anything to do with emissions or the like.
However it could be that supply far outstrips demand and the result is this. As much as I'd like to 'save' a car, I've actually got one back at home in England (1985 Austin Mini) that I need to get to work on.
If anyone else has any information on the above then I'd be interested to know, too.
