nerd The one in the pic is actually a mk 2 of the First Generation. So the sequence is Gen 1, mk 1 and 2, then Gen 2 etc
While true, we shall continue to ignore this or we'll be forced to confront the fact Mk3, Mk4, and Mk5 Fiesta are similar enough to share the same glasswork and, by extension, the Mk5 and Mk6 Escort might too. Mk2 Mondeo it is. biggrin

Wonderful! Looks like an early 406 Unimog. Has the curved cut out in the bumper for the PTO which was introduced very soon after launch, then a year later the intake vents moved from near the headlights to the side wing by the indicators so the one in Blakeatron's pic is a 1964 or '65 as any later it would have the vents by the indicators
Surely being a T-Reg, its a '79?

I would guess its from a time when the DVLA (or whoever it was back then) allocated plates based on date of import rather than date of manufacture. There used to be quite a few anomalies.

That's when it was registered in the UK, certainly, but the rules weren't applied as thoroughly back then, so that may not be the same as date of manufacture.

They didn't start issuing 'age-related' regns for Imports and ex-military vehicles etc.until the early 1980s, possibly '82-'84. Until then, they simply issued a number relevant to the date issued.

Lines around the sill/arch are wrong to be a V8 250

The 'D' on the hub would suggest otherwise.

Interesting to see a E30 M3 in that pic. !
I suspect it's a replica, the rear windows don't look right. It may be the distortion of the image though.

Reckon Touring 442 is right, well done.

Here's another. I'm trying to make up for the non classical, non rares I've loaded up here lately. So, to those scrupulous thread browsers, I present... this.

What could it be? 260z?

Bonus to who can identify the engine photo'd.
