Mooching round Chester today. WHAT is this!!!

Looks like it says it has a V8 under the bonnet, also looks like a shopped roof or such special bertone version, but then made special? with V8 and a pick-up-ish rear...? strange one that is :-)
Registration check confirms yellow Volvo with 3528 cc capacity but no current tax or MOT. Intriguing.

Rover V8 then hardly seems worth the effort given the marginal power increase.

Bertone’s we’re only ever the 2 door.

That yellow thing was once an estate I think looking at the rear lights.

At least by chopping the roof, he got rid of that awful window line seen on the estate. Where Volvo used the same rear doors as the 4 door car.

According to streetview that only seems to have appeared between 2019 and 2021 - maybe it's about to be saved?

Or maybe not!

I'll keep an eye on it. The strangest thing is I hadn't noticed it before.

I used to have a Driver identical to that (before it being restyled by a First double decker and a Rover 800).

Really nono ? The VTR I had was one of the most fun cars I’ve ever owned or driven. Amazing handling and a very revvy 1600 engine. And even the lower spec cars had great handling and a boot far bigger than the Mini.!

Been out in Northern California the past two weeks working. Couldn't help but notice this MGC Roadster lined up with a selection of various other vintage USA cars and trucks in the yard we were using to park our logistics trailer. Didn't get the chance for a close inspection, but it seemed fairly complete and restorable. Can post up pics of the other cars that were alongside if anyone is interested.
