This had been at the end of a driveway for a good amount of years. I was very lucky that it rolled after being fitted with different wheels.

I had to reverse up this narrow driveway to winch it onto the back of my truck.

The new owner didn't know exactly what it was although it appears to be a 50's fibreglass special based on BMC mechanicals.

Cheers

Looks very much like Spridget windscreen and possibly side screens which would most likely make it later than 50s.

Thanks for posting this. thumbup

Having seen it on 'Chasing Classic Cars' it's good to see a follow up on the story. I won't spoilt it for those who want to watch the video clip.

there used to be a brown scorpio near me, don't know if its still there. Always looked brand new and the man had hundreds of huge aerials and antennas on the roof of his house.
Probably explains his choice in car laugh

Not sure if it is rotting away as it seems in fairly good condition (for now). May even be awaiting restoration.

Anyway, near Crewe this morning.

I know the Hans Place Ferrari has been mentioned many times on this thread, but I was in Knightsbridge this morning and thought I would see if it's still there. It is.
Something odd with this one, it's showing as taxed and insured on the database but the MOT is showing as having run out well over a year ago... I didn't think it was possible to tax a car without a valid MOT?

That was mentioned before, I don't think there was ever a conclusion as to how it had happened.

Tax and insurance on auto-renew and nobody checking the details correctly when it comes to the MOT is most likely.

So long as the insurance company and the tax man are getting their money then they're not going to care too much about the MOT! wink

PH Classic Car Royalty nestling amongst the decaying Normag Tractors and Saviem van in Southern France a few weeks ago.

I'll give this guy the benefit of the doubt and hope he's a few steps away from getting this brute back on the road rather than it being left to die...

The tax man should - it has always been a principle that renewing tax without an MOT is not possible. Technically it did make it possible to have just one day of MOT at tax renewal date and therefore be taxed for 364 days without an MOT but auto-renewal should cover this. No idea if it has been included in the system but it should be that if paying by monthly direct debit for tax it shouldn't be taken if the MOT has expired with the tax system highlighting this to the registered keeper/tax payer.
