I know these are a design icon, etc, but they are also very ugly to my eyes.
I am inclined to agree although I think it was the later cars that were truly considered beautiful, at the front more than the back, IMOYou also have to consider the historical context. The Citroen was released in 1955 and looked "slammed" when it was parked, so this was the rather frumpy competition

That was a rare car when new.Talbot didn't sell many Series 2 Ti's at all.
I only ever saw one Series 2 Ti in Moonstone....was parked up near a special stage exit in Cumbria on the RAC Rally in 1984.
I bought a black Series 2 Ti back in 1986, and in the 2.5 years I owned it, I only ever saw a couple of other ones. Used to see Series 1 Ti's around, but Series 2 ones were few and far between. One of the bigger Talbot dealers of the day (who was a bit of a Sunbeam-Lotus specialist) told me in 1989, that he sold no more than a handful of Series 2 Ti's when new.

Insurance company: "Has the car been modified in any way?"
"Well... umm..."

The 2CV one cleverly used the normal bootlid - I don’t think mods were required. "Well... umm..."
That said, quite a few of these were sold:
As an aside, I wonder what they towed with that car?

Interesting; I always thought that the Kent name was the name of the Jaguar 'spoked' alloy but it seems not, GKN Kent being a susidiary of GKN, and they made alloys for numerous cars, including the Jaguar. I don't recall any other wheel, other than the Jaguar/Daimler one, being referred to as 'Kent'.https://driventowrite.com/2015/09/11/gkn-kent-allo...
